Finger Lakes Of New York
The Finger Lakes Region of New York is unique because of its geographical formation and scenic beauty. There is much to see and do here in the Finger Lakes Region of New York.
During the summer months you can enjoy visiting the many grape vineyards and winerys that abound the hillsides that surround the the finger lakes. You can enjoy a wonderful dinner aboard one of the paddle wheel boats on there trip on the lakes. There a many golf courses in the area for those that like to play golf.
One of the most breath taking sites to see is the beautiful Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park when all the flowers are in bloom. There are number of gardens within the gardens. Japanese, Italian, Rose,and Moonlight are just a few of the gardens within the park to see.
There are many different falls also in the area to view.
The Finger Lakes Region also has an abundance of history associated with the area dating back to the revolutionary war. Many (historical)famous people of New York are from the finger lakes region. Susan B. Anthony is one notable individual that comes to mind and there are others if you want to take the time to study our history of New York.
During the fall the Finger Lakes Region is a dazzling display of delight when the trees leaves are ablaze with many different vibrant colors.

The Rieslings from the Finger Lakes can be excellent. I did a wine press tour 10 years ago and attended a wine media tasting of Konstantin Frank Rieslings in NYC a couple of months back - most impressive. I hope one day we will have a Guide to the Finger Lakes on Wine Travel Guides
